Frequently asked questions

22 straight answers

Everything a buyer asks us, answered honestly.

What it publishes, where it publishes, how you connect, what it costs, and the things it deliberately does not do. If an answer here disagrees with something you were told elsewhere, this page wins.

What it does

The product, in plain terms.

Content Pulse works on content you have already published. It never asks your team to write anything new, and it never becomes the place editors have to work.

What is Content Pulse?

Content Pulse distributes what you already publish. It reads each new article, listing or product as it goes live, builds a post shaped for each social channel you own, publishes it on the cadence you set, and reports what that post did.

There are three lanes, and they are at different stages. Publishers connect through WordPress, and that lane is a private beta. Marketplaces and classifieds is an enterprise, feed-led deployment. The Shopify app for ecommerce is in development, with no live merchants and no results yet.

See the publisher product

Which social channels does it publish to?

Four: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X. That is the whole list.

We would rather publish well to four channels you own than thinly to a long list you do not. Each one gets creative in its own shape and a caption in its own register. On the publisher product, single images publish to Instagram at 4:5 so the story takes up more of the screen.

Does it write the posts and build the images?

Yes. Copy is generated per channel rather than one caption pasted everywhere, and the creative is drawn from your own brand: your colours, your logo, your images.

Publishers choose one of nine looks. You see each one in your own brand on a real article of yours before you pick, and every post from then on is drawn that way. Each look covers all four kinds of post, a single story, breaking news, a carousel cover and a carousel card, at two shapes each, so nothing is stretched or badly cropped. Changing your mind later is one choice, not a redesign.

Does it make video?

Yes. Short-form video built from the story you already published, vertical for the scrolling feeds and wide for the players. Multi-slide carousels, quote cards and cover posts come from the same source.

Every package includes a weekly video allowance, and you can buy more if you outgrow it.

How you connect

Three ways in for publishers, and a feed-led route for catalogues.

How does a publishing site connect?

Three routes, and there is no fourth. First, the WordPress plugin: an administrator installs the connector in wp-admin and it provisions itself, so there is no key to request. Every article flows in the moment it publishes, and a one-click backfill brings the existing archive with it. Second, any other CMS over the event bus: your stack sends publish events to our endpoint and we build the mapping on our side. That is an assisted integration, scoped with you rather than self-serve. Third, structured feeds, for enterprise groups whose content already reaches us as a machine-readable export.

There is no RSS connector on the publisher side. The WordPress route is also not a public download yet: the plugin is in private beta and access is assisted, so we will not point you at an unverified package.

How the WordPress connector works

How does a marketplace or classifieds catalogue reach you?

Three options, and the right one depends on how quickly your stock needs to be visible. You can push listing events onto our bus as they happen, expose a feed we poll on a cadence that suits the catalogue, or drop a scheduled file to SFTP, S3 or GCS and let us diff it against the last version.

This lane is enterprise and feed-led. We scope the connector with you rather than handing you a self-serve install.

See the marketplace product

Can I use it on Shopify today?

Not yet. The Shopify app is in development. There are no live merchants, so there are no merchant results to show you, and nothing is on sale.

We are choosing the first stores to build it with. If your catalogue would suit that, tell us about it.

Read where ecommerce stands

What it costs

The real numbers, not a range.

All prices are in US dollars. The publisher and ecommerce products share one package set because they share one engine underneath. Marketplaces are priced differently, per domain.

What does the publisher product cost?

Four packages, per publication, per month. Headline is $99 and covers 2 channels, 3 posts per day per channel and 3 videos a week. Bulletin is $149 for 3 channels, 6 posts per day per channel and 8 videos a week. Newsroom is $349 for all 4 channels, 10 posts per day per channel and 20 videos a week. Masthead is $499 for all 4 channels, 12 posts per day per channel and 40 videos a week, plus hands-on setup and priority support.

The posting cap is per day, per channel, so a busier news week does not cost more.

Is there a discount for paying annually?

Yes, 20% off the package price. Billed annually, Headline works out at $79.20 a month, Bulletin $119.20, Newsroom $279.20 and Masthead $399.20.

The discount applies to the package only. Add-ons are billed at their full monthly rate either way and are never discounted.

What if we need more than the package holds?

Two add-ons. An extra channel is $15 a month, and an extra pack of ten videos a week is $79 a month.

An extra channel means one more of the four networks, so it only applies to Headline and Bulletin, which include two and three. Newsroom and Masthead already have all four, so there is nothing to add.

Is there a trial?

Headline comes with a 14-day trial. The other three packages do not.

What does the marketplace and classifieds product cost?

Two modules, priced per domain, per month. Social Pulse is $1,499 and Search Surge is $1,499, so both together are $2,998 per domain. There is a one-off setup fee of $1,000, and multi-domain discounts apply.

Take one module or both. Billing is monthly, per domain.

Who it is for

Who gets the most out of it, and who does not.

Is this only for large publishers?

No. Headline exists for a small title with two channels, and Masthead exists for a newsroom publishing all day. What matters more than size is whether you publish steadily and own the social accounts you want to reach.

The honest best fit for the WordPress route today is an editorial team with a WordPress administrator, an established article taxonomy, and owned social channels ready to connect. If you publish twice a month, or your categories and tags are not maintained, there is less for the engine to work with.

How technical does our team need to be?

For WordPress you need an administrator once, to install the connector and confirm the mapping. After that the day-to-day work is editorial: choose a look, set a cadence, approve posts.

The event bus and feed routes need a developer on your side who can send us publish or listing events. We scope that work with you before anyone commits to it.

What you keep control of

Nothing goes out that you did not allow.

Do we approve posts before they publish?

Yes. You can review and approve each package individually, or set a hold period so packages release on schedule unless someone stops them. That choice is set per content stream, so a breaking-news stream and an evergreen stream can behave differently.

What access do you need to our systems?

Content Pulse reads what you publish and posts to the social profiles you connect. It does not take admin rights over your CMS, and it does not replace your CMS or the tools your team already uses.

You connect the owned social accounts that should receive distribution, and you can disconnect them.

Do you send email, push notifications or WhatsApp?

No, and we would rather be blunt about it. Content Pulse does not send email or newsletters, does not send browser or app push notifications, does not send WhatsApp messages, and does not run saved-search alerting.

We also do not sell your content or your inventory into an advertiser network. If any of those are what you are shopping for, this is not the tool.

Data and reporting

What comes back after the post goes out.

What reporting do we get?

Every piece is measured per channel, per category and per format. Post performance and account or profile performance are reported separately, because they measure different things and adding them together would double-count your reach.

Links carry clean campaign tags, so the sessions they bring show up in the analytics you already trust rather than only inside our tool.

Can you tie any of this to revenue?

On the Shopify side that is the whole point of the build: sessions, orders and revenue traced back to the post that earned them. That app is still in development.

For publishers, off-site performance is matched against what happens on your own property, so reach can be read next to the outcomes you care about, and what travelled gets back to the desk before the next story is assigned.

Does it handle several brands and several languages?

Yes. Reporting can be read across every brand and locale you run, and output is multilingual where the strategy calls for it.

Publisher packages are priced per publication and marketplace modules per domain, so a group with several titles or several domains is priced accordingly.

Getting started

What happens when you get in touch.

How do we start, and how long does it take to go live?

Tell us which lane you are in and we will come back with the route in, the cadence we would run, and what the first stretch looks like. For publishers that means your CMS, your volume and the channels you own. For marketplaces it means catalogue size and how your stock reaches us.

On timing, it depends on the route, and we will not quote you a date before we have seen your stack. The WordPress plugin provisions itself in minutes, but private-beta access is assisted, so the pace is set by the install review we do with your administrator. An event bus or feed integration is scoped with your developers first, and that scope is where the honest answer comes from.

Start a conversation

Can we see results from other deployments?

Yes. The publisher and marketplace case studies set out what happened, over what window, from what baseline. Outcomes vary by source data, implementation, channel mix, cadence, market, and measurement window.
